Hot morning. I fueled and stretched.

Monday, June 25, 2007

I'm back. I've been struggling, but woke up this morning with a new vision. Last week I was focused too much on my pace. Feeling dissapointed with how much slower I was running. I also was frustrated realizing I won't be able to participate in the NYC 1/2 Marathon. I just won't be ready. I am only at 5-6 miles - I should be at 8-10. If I felt like my body was at 100%, I might try pushing. But the last thing I want to do is re-injur myself. I'm still not 100% over the IT band, but I do feel stronger.
Anyshits - This week I gave my self a goal to run 5 miles every day (Mon-Friday). I am not going to worry about pace. I am just going to make sure I stretch and fuel properly before I run.

Like this morning! I was not exhausted from my run, and I felt strong the entire time.

I DID NOT RUN FOR TEN DAYS. June 8th-17th. I ran while on vacation, then came home and was overwhelmed by the real world.

Below entries are from my vacation in South Carolina. HOT & HUMID!
But I was running on the beach. My legs were never so thankful. I'd run against the wind up the beach, and then the wind on my back down. It was fun.
